To operate flexibly and independently as a freelancer without employees, Evelyn Klieber sought the digitalization of her firm from the start.
Correspondence with her clients proved to be an obstacle, as the interaction initially took place largely in analog form. Communication by mail was not only time-consuming but increasingly brought with it logistical issues. While Outlook helps reduce postage costs and the immense consumption of paper, the lack of structure remains. Additionally, data protection issues cannot be ruled out when using it, according to Klieber.
With the use of DATEV, the tax advisor is disturbed by the lack of clarity. The program is fundamentally good, but often provides opportunities for errors. Attempts to resolve issues via the service hotline or help pages are usually complicated and lengthy. Moreover, server problems are insufficiently communicated, and the pricing is opaque.

At Steuerboard, all paths are much shorter, says Klieber. This applies not only to communication but also to implementation. Less than a week elapsed from the initial consultation to installation. Transparency is also convincing, as prices are prominently displayed on the page, and users are directly informed in the event of server problems.
Time-saving, Structure, Traceability
Evelyn Klieber primarily uses Steuerboard to securely and centrally exchange messages and files with her clients. Since the implementation, the exchange of information occurs exclusively through the platform, significantly accelerating processes in many cases.
Depending on the volume of receipts, the time effort is reduced by 30 to 50% compared to analog processes. Signatures are obtained via digital signature, and email notifications automatically remind about deadlines. The exchange remains transparent for both parties at all times.
“In analog communication, clients sometimes do not even know what documents they have provided because no copy is available. When they hand over documents properly, digitally, and in compliance with data protection, it remains verifiable.” Klieber also observes a changed behavior on the part of clients, as receipts are usually digitized and submitted immediately.
User-Friendliness - For Tax Advisors and Clients
For tax advisors, software products are an integral part of their daily work. For clients, however, familiarizing themselves with the programs often proves challenging, according to Klieber. With Steuerboard, the intuitive handling impresses - not only for themselves but especially for their clients.

No training is necessary, and settings can be managed independently. Precisely because of the straightforward user interface, clients have positively embraced the transition.
Some new clients initially approach working with Steuerboard with skepticism, but this dissipates after a short period. In such cases, one must remain steadfast and endure an occasional uncomfortable conversation. This requires courage, but in the long run, digitization is worthwhile, says the tax advisor. “And let's be honest, does one really still want to be the firm working with a manual file on the shelf?”
